Braving the Elements for the Perfect Tree

We went on a hunt for our tree last weekend, even when it was raining & muddy.

Scott's folks were in town & got to go on the adventure with us.

The kids all helped daddy saw the tree down.

We picked "Sitting Bull" for our own.
(At Johnson Tree Farm, all of the trees are named.)

Hyped up on sugar.

There were a few farm animals to enjoy.
Here Gillian was shocked by a chicken pecking her finger.
She didn't believe they would really bite her.
Then she got herself a good little nip...

You got a good looking one. :-) And I love it that they name all of the trees. What a fun idea!

We go every year the day after Thanksgiving. This year's tree was named Mr. McFeely. We've had R2D2 and Mr. Rogers the last couple of years. Collin won a cookie for his great pumpkin roll during the wagon ride. Without prompting, he shared half with Grace. Good times.

I love the picture of them eating their cookies and I love Gillian's face in the last picture. It looks like Scott had a good laugh out of that one.
Great name for the tree.

Dan - that's so sweet about Collin sharing. Good brother.:) This was our first time to Johnson. Pretty fun!
Cola - Yes. Scott did get a big kick out of the chicken peck. Ha!
