Stop trying to make your own Mole sauce. Leave it to the folks who know how to really make it. I just got a jar of Mole paste from the Mexican aisle of the supermarket. WOW. It is so tasty. Just like at my favorite Mexican restaurant, El Ateno. Save some time (a meal with this takes about 20 minutes!) & money (the jar was less than $3, and it will last me a long time.) Next time you are out, buy some Dona Maria condiment.
My kids even love this stuff. We are eating it regularly now.

Where do you buy it? I LOVE a good mole. Troy has authentic mole recipes straight from Oaxaca--but I don't have the 3 days it takes to cook them!
All the Watsonville stores seem to have a good Mexica section. I got mine at Nob Hill. But, I think any grocer in store will have it.
I hope you all approve! I just made it again last night. We love it.
I love that brand too. Do you melt some chocolate in it too? I have a friend who taught me to make it that way. I LOVE mole!
Ha! And we mexicans tried to keep it a secret so we could pretend that we make it from scratch! This is indeed the stuff real mexicans use for mole. My family has used it for generations. Of course we add to it, but some things are best kept secret :-) Brittany—Most stores have it, even Safeway.
