I thought I'd share a favorite scripture passage, that became especially important to me while I was pregnant with Gabriel.
2 Corinthians 4:7-10
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God & not we ourselves;
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not despairing;
persecuted, but not forsaken;
struck down, but not destroyed;
always carrying about in our body the dying of Jesus,
that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body."

Beautiful picture, Erin. And I love the verse! I especially love the one you put on his grave.
Love you
we definitely won't forget him. and i thank the Lord he gives children like gabriel parents that treasure his life, no matter how short.
so. very. lovely.
my eyes are filled with tears.
but they are not tears of sorrow.
our Lord is so faithful.
you bless me.
*hug*
Thank you for sharing such a special and intimate family tradition with us. I agree with Meris. God knew exactly what He was doing when he gave Gabriel to you and Scott. He couldn't have had better parents.
I stumbled upon your blog through the Ethiopia webboard. We too lost a beautiful daughter 5 years ago. Thank you for the verses of encouragement. The Psalms were a huge comfort to me and still are because there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of our little Abby just as I am sure you do for your Gabriel. May God be your source of comfort always.
